How Once Human plays and where to start

Controls & combat

Action survival gameplay: scavenge scrap, fight and capture Anomalies, turn scrap and Anomaly power into hundreds of custom weapons, and manage a home territory whose helpers chop wood, mine ore, and tend fields.

Sources
Exploration & story

A bizarre apocalyptic open world where old objects awakened - buses, TVs, chairs now walk and stare - and uncovering the truth behind the fall of the world drives exploration of the Stardust-infected wasteland.

Editor’s tip

Your first steps

1) Secure basics first - scavenge scrap and set up a small shelter before hunting Anomalies. 2) Capture early Anomalies instead of only killing them; yesterday's enemy becomes gear and home power. 3) Bring a friend into your territory and split helper duties (wood/ore/fields) to test the co-op loop before going deep.

You don't get AS big of an area for your Territory but it's far easier for placements.
